R&D projects carried out in Poland and worldwide have a significant role in the development of the economy and acceleration of civilization development. They make it possible to introduce product or service innovations to the market, but also increase the competitiveness of enterprises. However, bringing technological solutions to the state of implementation on the market is a long-term and complicated process, which requires not only an innovative approach to project management and enormous financial resources but also a wise process and human resources management.
Often full of twists and turns of the action, the research process leads to different than expected conclusions, which require modifications that will lead to the right results to ensure the success of the project. How do we know so much about it?
In the period of its operation, ATMAT (from 2014), as a Beneficiary, received funding amounting to approximately 27 million for the implementation of six research and development projects with a total value of about PLN 40 million. We are currently continuing the execution of four projects co-financed by the European Union under the Intelligent Development Operational Program for 2014-2020 and the Malopolska Regional Operational Program for 2014-2020.
The projects we execute
The primary theme of the projects is the technology of large-scale 3D printing. It is thanks to the grant support that we have implemented the largest in Poland and one of the largest in Europe, a large-scale 3D printer in FDM technology. We do not stop there, because we continually strive to increase the efficiency and quality of this technology, carrying out further research and development works. Moreover, we are developing a project assuming the creation of a technological line enabling the development of production of composite tanks for gases and liquids. We are also developing a project in the field of rehabilitation medicine, providing for the development of tools for the rehabilitation of children and adults with nervous system dysfunctions in clinical and home conditions (Exoskeleton).
What are the advantages of implementing R&D projects?
Research and development projects provide many opportunities for entrepreneurs who decide to implement them. The European Union-funded project, apart from the chance to introduce new products and processes or services to the market, enables the development of technical facilities and R&D staff. It is the most significant value of the company in the implementation of research and development works.
Support for research and development
The way to obtain financial support in research and development projects is a complicated activity that requires a lot of commitment from the Applicant. It is a process that requires the implementation of many steps, including the definition of the concept of the project, preparation of professional competition documentation, implementation of the project in accordance with the assumptions, appropriate financial settlement of expenses incurred, and evaluation of the developed results and audit of the project. It is only a part of the project management activities co-financed by the European Union. Other sub-processes may occur depending on the individual situation and specificity of the project.
We support entrepreneurs with the professional assistance in the process of applying for financial support. We provide comprehensive services in the field of accounting for projects in accordance with European Union guidelines.
I believe that using the services of companies providing support for EU subsidies is rational and will bring measurable benefits. The combination of knowledge and experience of the company supporting the acquisition of grants and the Applicant will ensure comprehensive project management in all its phases.

Where do you see the success of ATMAT in obtaining and implementing funding for R&D projects?
First of all, what business values the company achieves by implementing its projects with the support of EU money. The most important ones are the non-material values, such as brand, market recognition, and high involvement of employees in their work, transparency of activities, and good work organization. All this, in turn, makes the results of research and development work, which is a market innovation, definitely constitutes a competitive advantage of the company.
We conduct research in cooperation with private sector companies and research institutes, which additionally influences the publicity of the company's activity and provides opportunities to develop collaboration in the key and the important projects on the Polish market.
